"Can't Feel My Face" by Ember Island

Swedish indie pop trio Ember Island cover "Can't Feel My Face," a 2015 funky electrodisco number from Toronto, Canada alternative R&B artist The Weeknd.

Like most songs recorded over the past 60 years, this one is either about a person the singer wants to know in the Biblical sense, copious amounts of cocaine, or a generous helping of both.

For more Weeknd covers, the Feuerschwanz version of "Blinding Lights" can be found here, and the VONALTUM version of "Save Your Tears" can be found here.

"Blinding Lights" by Feuerschwanz

The video for tongue-in-cheek German medieval metal band Feuerschwanz's cover of Toronto, Canada artist The Weeknd's 2019 universally acclaimed synthwave single "Blinding Lights" seems to check almost every box.

Bagpipe intro? Check.

Fellow in chainmail armor rocking a two stringed bass made from a poleaxe?  Check.

Attractive violinist dancing seductively? Check.

Implication that this foray into a castle with full backline and a bird of prey is all a grog induced dream? Check, check, and check.

For another Weeknd cover, VONALTUM's cover of "Save Your Tears" can be found here.

"Save Your Tears" by VONALTUM

VONALTUM are two American sisters (at least, their YouTube channel is based out of the states.  I can't find any biographical information, so I'll just say that they're from Minot, North Dakota... which has a .0005% chance of being accurate.)

Here, they tackle Toronto, Canada artist The Weeknd's 2020 synthwave breakup song "Save Your Tears" in a stripped-down version that matches the forlorn lyrics.

Even better, this was released at the height of quarantine lockdowns, so it's like a beautifully decorated melancholy cake with sorrowful frosting.
